We are proud to say that our Jubilee Hall has won a number of Awards and recognition, not only for the quality of the design of the building itself and its Facilities, but also for the high standard of management which operates to maintain the complex as an excellent community resource and venue for all sorts of events.

This is how one happy couple described their experience of the facilities:

"We wanted to have a wedding where we would have the freedom to choose the food, the drink and the decorations. We also really wanted to avoid that situation where the ceremony is held in one place and then a huge car shuffle goes on to get to the reception. Using Batcombe Old School House and Village Hall meant we could do both of these."

"The Village Hall and School House are both licensed for civil ceremonies and are both lovely buildings. In the end we opted to have the ceremony in the smaller school house, using the village hall next door for the reception."

"Having the use of the kitchen was a bonus for washing the mountains of Cheddar strawberries we got through as well as making tea and coffee through the day, and meant we could chill the bubbly (from Whatley vineyard) well in advance."

"A real bonus was the fact that the hall (and school room) are fully accessible and have plenty of level parking, which was important as we had two guests in wheelchairs as well as some in buggies. The fact that Batcombe playing field was a short walk through the churchyard was great for some of the younger guests too.

It was so easy to arrange, I'm sure it would have been more stressful and not so much the sort of wedding we had wanted if we had used a ‘wedding venue’ (as well as a lot cheaper!) The hall committee were fantastic, letting us look around the hall more than once prior to the day and being very helpful throughout. I would thoroughly recommend using a village hall that is licensed for marriage, it made it really special."
